Complete prenatal, homebirth and 4th trimester care

Prenatal Care

Hour long appointments, no need to feel rushed. This includes all screening and tests currently available at your discretion (genetic screening, blood work, ultrasound, gestational diabetes screening, group beta strep screening...) Discussion on planning for the birth, 4th trimester, sibling adjustment, etc. And use of complementary therapies including herbal and nutritional support, referral for chiropractic and acupuncture.

Labor and Birth Care

My team comes to you. I bring a 2nd midwife to births with me. Birth tubs are available for my clients use (everyone gets a personal tub liner). We monitor your and babes safety and provide support during your labor and birthing process. About an hour after the birth a complete newborn check is done on and right next to you. I have the tools and skill to do perineal repairs if needed.

Home visits on day 1, 3 and 7, offering complete care for you and babe. Office visits 3 and 6 weeks. I’m there to help you know what’s normal and not normal for you and babe during this life transition, supporting your growth into parenthood and as a family.

“Wow, you’d never know anything amazing happened here tonight, except for the 3 of them in the bedroom snuggling.”

  • Appointments are in my office, conveniently located in Berlin, just off I-89 exit #7 and in Burlington, just off I-189 Shelburne Rd..

  • Appointments generally last an hour. This gives us time to get to know each other, discuss testing, screening and care options in depth so that you are able to make well informed decisions about your care and monitor the health and wellbeing of your pregnancy.

  • My assistant and I do a home visit around 36 weeks after which prenatal care continues with office visits.

  • My assistant and I come to you for your labor and birth. After your birth I leave you and yours as undisturbed as possible for the first hour after birth, to oh and ahh and enjoy one another.

  • A complete newborn exam is done at your bedside. Your perineum is cared for as needed (including repair if necessary - yes, I carry numbing agents). We leave your house as it was, just one bag of laundry, 1 bag of garbage and new family member. You are given extensive postpartum instructions (which we have gone over prenatally), fed and tucked into bed with your new family member.

  • Postpartum Care - I come to you on day 1, day 3 and 1 week and then you come to the office for 3 and 6 week visits. All of these visits offer complete care for you and baby. This is the standard of care, but if there is any need I will come to you more often i.e., breastfeeding support, fussy baby care, maternal mood complications. As with all of your care I will help you access and coordinate further resources as needed.
